Rapeseed oil is particularly well known for its omega 3 content. Indeed, it is a very interesting oil from a nutritional point of view since it is a source of alpha-linolenic acid (omega 3).

In addition, it is bioavailable omega 3 and can therefore be used directly by the human body.

There are different varieties of linseed depending on its use. Indeed, linseed, or flax, can be used for its fibres (textile) or for its oil.

The fibre varieties are taller than those producing seeds for oil extraction.

It is a beneficial crop that allows for crop diversification and longer rotations. In addition, it is relatively economical in terms of inputs.

Soya beans are grown primarily for their protein. The oil is the co-product of this production.

Like other legumes, soya beans have the advantage of capturing nitrogen from the air. This feature reduces the need for fertiliser and therefore saves fossil energy. Another direct environmental benefit : soya beans require very few phytosanitary treatments.
